- Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess an MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate from a recognized university/institution.
- Internship: Completion of one year of compulsory rotating internship on or before the date notified by the exam conducting body.
- Nationality: Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCI, PIO and Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply.
- Registration: Must be registered with the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council.
- Age Limit: There is typically no upper age limit prescribed for this exam.

- Marking Scheme: +4 marks for each correct answer, -1 mark for each wrong answer, 0 for unattempted questions.
