🌟 Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 - Session 1: Official Public Notice
The National Testing Agency (NTA), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has issued a Public Notice on October 31, 2025, inviting online applications for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026 - Session 1. For the Academic Session 2026-27, JEE (Main) will be conducted in two Sessions: Session 1 (January 2026) and Session 2 (April 2026).
🎯 Purpose of JEE (Main)
JEE (Main) comprises two papers:
- Paper 1 (B.E. / B.Tech): Conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. It is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs.
- Paper 2 (B. Arch and B. Planning): Conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the Country.
The examination will be conducted in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

Marking Scheme
- For Paper 1 and Part-1 of Paper 2, each Subject will have two sections.
- Section A will be Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are numerical values.
- There will be negative marking for incorrect answers in both Section A and Section B.

- Candidates can apply for JEE (Main) - 2026 Session 1 through the "Online" mode only from the website
https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/. - Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate; filling more than one Application Form will result in strict action.
- Candidates must strictly follow the instructions given in the Information Bulletin and on the NTA website, or they shall be summarily disqualified.
- All information/communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address or SMS on the registered Mobile Number, so these contact details must be correct.
