Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.
- Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to appear for the JEE Main exam. Candidates must ensure they satisfy the age criteria for admission in the respective institutes.
- Nationality: Indian nationals, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs and foreign nationals are eligible to apply.

- Number of Questions: Typically 75 questions (25 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics)
- Marking Scheme: +4 marks for each correct answer, -1 mark for each incorrect answer, no negative marking for unanswered questions in numerical value questions.

- Exam Duration: 3 hours

- Physics: Topics include Physics and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Motion of System of Particles and Rigid Body, Gravitation, Properties of Bulk Matter, Thermodynamics, Behaviour of Perfect Gas and Kinetic Theory, Oscillations and Waves.
- Chemistry: Physical Chemistry (Some basic concepts, States of Matter, Thermodynamics, Chemical Equilibrium, Redox reactions), Organic Chemistry (Hydrocarbons, Organic compounds containing Halogens, Oxygen, Nitrogen), Inorganic Chemistry (Classification of Elements, Periodic Table, Chemical Bonding and Molecular structure, The p-Block, d- and f-Block Elements, Coordination Compounds).
- Mathematics: Sets, Relations and Functions, Complex Numbers and Quadratic Equations, Matrices and Determinants, Permutations and Combinations, Mathematical Induction, Binomial Theorem and its simple applications, Sequences and Series, Limit, Continuity and Differentiability, Integral Calculus, Differential Equations, Coordinate Geometry, Three Dimensional Geometry, Vector Algebra, Statistics and Probability.
