About CBIP: Central Board of Irrigation and Power was set up by the govt of India
for monitoring of Irrigation and Power of our country in the
pre-independence era. It is now committed towards the development of Irrigation, Power and
Renewable energy sectors of the country through its Human Resources
development. CBIP has been rendering dedicated services to the professional organizations, engineers and individuals in the country
About the course: This is a modular type course of 52
weeks duration (2 semesters) covering the complete syllabus as per the
provision of mandatory training under Indian Electricity regulations
for O&M of Thermal Power Station
Eligibility: Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical
disciplines from a recognized institution/university/technical board of
the state/central govt with minimum of 60% marks throughout in
Xth/XIIth and Diploma
For sponsored candidates the criteria will be 60%
marks in Diploma with one year experience in the relevant field
Selection criteria: Based on the merit of marks of Xth/XIIth/Diploma and test/personal interview
Age limit: For non-sponsored candidates, the age limit is 27 years as on 26th March, 2012
No age limit for sponsored candidates
i. New Delhi ii. Nagpur iii. Kolkata iv. Bangalore v. Ranchi
Total No. of seats for the program is 40 (provisional), 10% seats are reserved for candidates sponsored from Power utilities having more than one year experience and more than 60% marks in 10th/12th and Diploma Engineering.
The seats of sponsored category can be filled by non-sponsored category and vice-versa depending on the position of vacant seats.
