Notification for Pre-Registration Qualifying Entrance Examination (Written Test and Interview) for Ph.D Programs – AUGUST 2010 Eligible candidates desirous of pursuing Ph.D. Program (both FT/PT) in the University are informed to apply in the prescribed format and take up the Qualifying Entrance Examination (Written Test and Interview).
The Entrance Examination consists of: (1) Objective type (Multiple Choice Questions - MCQ) written test Common to all Candidates of 2 hours duration, carrying 100 Marks, comprising (a) Test of Language Skills (25 marks) and Test of Quantitative Aptitude (25 marks) and (b) Test of Discipline-wise Subject Knowledge 50 marks) in English medium for all but Tamil discipline candidates; and
(2) Interview carrying 100 Marks (with 70 marks for Subject Knowledge, 20 marks for Research Aptitude and 10 marks for Communication Skills). Weightage for Objective type (MCQ) written test is 75% and for interview 25%.
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates those who have passed through 10+2+3+2 / 11+1+3+2 pattern alone can apply P.G. Degree with 50% of marks for SC/ST P.G. Degree with 55% of marks for all others Ph.D. in Education – Only those who have passed M.Ed., alone in eligible to apply
