Candidates are required to fill in the form given at the end of the Prospectus. The Prospectus can be obtained by the Candidates from the Office of AIFD Bangalore, ITI B Area , Dooravani Nagar, Old Madras Road, Bangalore -560016 through requisition along with a crossed demand draft for Rs.550/- which includes Rs.50/- as postal charges in favour of ARMY INSTITUTE OF FASHION & DESIGN, BANGALORE payable at Bangalore. Money order/Cheque/Postal order will not be accepted. Prospectus is also available on cash payment of Rs.500/- at Institute, Army Headquarters (AWES) and all the Army Command Headquarters (AWES). Candidates are advised to check their eligibility before filling in their application form. Application forms duly completed in all respects along with relevant certificates documents should reach the Principal. In case if the applicant desires to send an advance copy of the application they can download the application form from the website. However it is imperative that candidates obtain hardcopy of the prospectus and the application form as mentioned above.
Note: Students downloading the forms from website will have to attach a draft of Rs 550/-(Including Rs 50/- as postal charges) along with the application form. Candidates should ensure their eligibility for the AIFD PG/UG Course before filling in their application forms. All particulars / details sought from the candidate in the form should be provided and the columns completed and signed by the candidate himself / herself. Incomplete application forms will be rejected. There is no provision for condoning of the delay in the receipt of application forms on account of postal strikes / delays / lapse by courier services. Candidate will be required to appear for WAT on the given dates. On successfully passing, PG course, students will be called for CAT/Interview on the given date. The merit list of successful candidates will be then released and placed on the website of AWES/AIFD.

The CAT 2010 for admission to the PG Courses offered by the AIFD Bangalore will be held on Thursday 08 Jul 2010 from 0930 hrs to 1700 hrs at AIFD, Bangalore. The candidates will be required to report at AIFD, Bangalore at 0900 hrs i.e. at least half an hour before the commencement of the CAT.
WAT/CAT will consist of 100 Marks objective type test items to be
responded to by the candidates in the allocated duration of three
hours. The test will have the following components:-
(a) Intelligence and Reasoning Test.
(b) General Awareness Test.
(c) English Language Competency & Comprehension Test.
• The medium of the test shall be English only.
• The sample Question Paper is given at Appendix L
No negative marking will be done.
(a) The applicants must fall into one of the following categories.
(i) Wards of serving Army Personnel with continuous 10 years service.
(ii) Wards of Ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension,
liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the
time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical
board/invalided medical board. This includes wards of recruits
medically boarded out and granted disability pension.
(iii) Wards of Ex Army personnel who have taken discharge/release after ten years of service.
(b) Adopted/Step Children and Children of Remarried Widows.
(i) Adopted child of Army personnel adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission.
(ii) Step children are eligible provided they are born out of a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army.
(iii) Children of Widows of Army personnel who are born as a result of
second marriage with Army personnel. However, children of widows of
Army personnel born out of remarriage with Non-Army personnel would not
be eligible for admission.
(c) Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases.
(i) Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers Presently Serving with IN/IAF.
Wards of only those Ex Army medical officers/Army Dental Corps officers
presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force who have served
with the Army for 10 years.
(ii) Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS Personnel.
(aa) Children of APS personnel classified as ex-servicemen as per
Government of India, Ministry of Defence letter No 9(52)/88/D(Res)
dated 19 July 89.
(ab) Children of those APS personnel who are on deputation and who have
put in 10 years of service in the Army.
(ac) Children of APS personnel who are directly recruited into APS and
completed 10 years of regular service in APS and of those who, as per
their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS after
completing their minimum pensionable service.
(iii) Eligibility Criteria for Children of MNS/TA Personnel. The
following are eligible:-
(aa) Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 years service as
regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the Army.
(ab) Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of
embodied service.
2. Educational Qualification.
PG Course. Any graduate recognized by Indian Universities or Equivalent.
